This page is intended for coaching volunteers who have contacted league directors and been assigned a team.  If you are interested in coaching, please first contact a director in the appropriate league (see e-mail links on the program-specific pages on this web site) or simply indicate your willingness to volunteer when registering your child in the online system.

Thank you for volunteering to coach in our youth sports programs.  The GYAA is a successful community organization solely due to the commitment and generosity of volunteers like yourself.  As part of the City of Germantown's and the GYAA's commitment to the youth of our community, all coaching volunteers are required to undergo volunteer training and criminal background checks.  The links below contain the coaching application, background check consent forms and info, the video that all volunteers must view and the training post-test.  These items will often be covered at the coach's meeting or draft, so the resources below are for coaches who could not attend in person.

Instructions:

1. Download and complete the coaching application and background consent form (pdf).

2. View the video (approx. 35 min in duration, 35 MB file size).  A broadband internet connection and the Quicktime plug-in or iTunes are required.

3. Download and print the post test (pdf file).  Write your name and the league you are coaching in (e.g. GYAA Rec Softball) on the top of the form and answer all the questions.

4. Drop off your completed test at the City of Germantown Parks and Rec office.  Tests can also be faxed to 751-5700.

5. A digital photo is required for the creation of your ID card.  The Parks and Rec office can take your photo any time between 8 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday.

6. Please be sure to volunteer in the registration system when you register your child.  If you do not have a child participating then create a registration account and go the the volunteer section.
